ELECTIONS FOR THE STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES

Based on the new Regulations decided in University Senate in 26.09.2006,  undergraduate and graduate students have a chance to elect their representatives. This year, again, according to the calendar given below, all undergraduate and graduate students will vote for one candidate from their class (or program in graduate programs). The Class Student Representatives elected in a department will gather to form the Department Student Council. The Chair of this Council will represent the Department in the Faculty Student Council. University Student Council consists of the Chairs of Faculty Student Council, Chairs of  Graduate School Student Council and the Chair of School of Foreign Languages Student Council and hence has 11 members.
Similar procedure will be applied to graduate students as well.

All students are encouraged to participate in this process by being a canditate and/or by voting. All details about the process and results of elections will be presented in the internet address of www.po.metu.edu.tr/secim/2007

CALENDAR:
September 19:  Start for Election Period, Announcement of Election Calendar
October 1-8 (till Wednesday 12:00): Applications for being a candidate
October 9: Announcement of the list of canditates and Volting Places
October 9-15: (Friday-Monday 16:00): Campaign period
October 10-15: Announcement of voters’ lists, period to make a complaint regarding the lists
October 16: (Tuesday 17:00): Certitude of voters’ and candidates' lists
October 17: (Wednesday 9:30-16:00): 1st Round Elections for Class Student Representatives and Announcement of Results of 1st Round
October 18: Making Complaints about the Results of 1st Round Elections and Announcement the lists of candidates for the 2nd Round
October 16: (Monday 9:30-16:00): 2nd Round Elections for Class Student Representatives and Announcement of Results of 2nd Round
October 22: Making Complaints about the Results of 2nd Round Elections and Announcement the lists of candidates for the 3rd Round
October 23: (Wednesday 9:30-16:00): 3rd Round Elections for Class Student Representatives and Announcement of Results of 3rd Round
October 24: Making Complaints about the Results of 3rd Round Elections
October 30-November 1: First meetings of Department Student Council, elections
October 2-6: First meetings of Faculty/Graduate School/School of Foreign Languages Student Council, elections
November 7: First meeting of University Student Council, election of the Administrative Board
November 8: Announcement of all Council members and Administrative Board, end of Election Period.
