ELECTIONS FOR THE STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES--2005
Based on Regulations decided in University Senate in 2002 and 2003, undergraduate and graduate students have a chance to elect their representatives. This year, again, according to the calendar given below, all undergraduate and graduate students will vote for one candidate from their class or program. The Class Student Representatives elected in a department will gather to form the Department Student Council. The Chair of this Council will represent the Department in the Faculty Student Council. University Student Council will have 6 members who are the Chairs of Faculty Student Council and the Chair of School of Foreign Languages Student Council. Similar procedure will apply to graduate students as well.
All students are encouraged to participate in this process by being a canditate and/or by voting. All details about the process and results of elections will be presented in the internet address of www.po.metu.edu.tr/secim/2005
CALENDAR:
September 26-28 (Monday-Wednesday 17:00): Applications for being a candidate
September 29 Announcement of the list of canditates
October 3-5 Announcement of voters’ lists, period to make a complaint regarding the lists
October 7 Certitude of voters’ lists
September 30-
October 10 (Friday-Monday 16:00): Campaign period
October 11 (Tuesday 9:30-16:00): Elections for Class Student Representatives (1. Round)
October 14 (Friday 9:30-16:00): Elections for Class Student Representatives (2. Round)
October 19 (Wednesday 9:30-16:00): Elections for Class Student Representatives (3. Round)
October 24-25: First meeting of Department Student Council, elections
October 26-27: First meeting of Faculty/Graduate School/School of Foreign Languages Student Council, elections
November 7: First meeting of University Student Council, elections
November 9: Announcement of all council members, end of elections
